Hi, I’m Linnaea. I’m a born-and-raised ranch girl, photographer, Meathacker, ski bum, college student. When I’m not in school, I live and work on Alderspring Ranch in the remote mountains of Idaho. I grew up here with my parents and six sisters, surrounded by life: cows grazing in the fields, horses underneath me, cats and dogs almost constantly underfoot. Life on a ranch is sometimes utter confusion and chaos because you can’t ever completely control animals. But there’s something very fulfilling about ranch life just the same.
After growing up on a ranch, one of my passions is food. It just makes sense to me to eat food produced straight from the land by people who care about stewarding it. It tastes better, is better for you, and is simply more fun to cook with. Others feel the same way: there are hundreds of healthy cooking blogs out there. But not a lot of them will show you how to cook great meat. Before I learned how to cook meat, it was pretty intimidating. I thought you had to be a grilling expert or know all kinds of special techniques. After I got started, I realized that good ingredients are pretty hard to ruin if you know just a few basics.
So no, my recipes will not teach you to cook meat like a professional chef in a five-star restaurant. But you don’t need to cook meat like a professional chef. You just need to put great, well-cooked, delicious meals on the table. And that you can do with my recipes.
So browse around. Find some recipes. Try something new. And let me know if you have any questions!
